Birth certificates
- INFORMATION INCLUDED ON CERTIFICATE:
- Child's forenames
- Sex
- Date of birth
- Place of birth
- Mother's full name and maiden name
- Father's full name and occupation if married to mother (or, after 1875, if attending and signing registration entry)
- Name, address & relationship to the child of person registering birth
- From 1969: place of birth of parents
- Obtained from register office where birth registered (for a fee). Office will require name and quarter when birth registered.
- Or from General Records Office (Southport) who will also require Vol. & Page number from births index (see GRO for contact details).
