St Peter's Cemetery

• Gravestones on railway embankment belong to St Peter's. Railway construction commenced in 1866 and cut through the burial ground. So as not to desecrate the graveyard, the embankment was built over the existing graves and the gravestones from the graves beneath placed on corresponding positions on its slopes (as stipulated in the enabling Act of Parliament).
